Elder Gwendolyn Yvette Brooks-Richardson, affectionately known as Elder Gwen by the Christ the Healer family, is a native of Greenwood, Mississippi. She is the daughter of Evelyn and the late Frank Brooks and a graduate of Greenwood High School. Elder Gwen holds a dual degree in Management and Organizational Leadership from Bethel University and is currently enrolled in the graduate program at Keller School of Management of DeVry University.
She excels in her leadership roles as the 2nd Vice on the church’s governing board and Chief Operational Officer for the ministry where she oversees the Marketing, Audio/Visual and administrative functions including finances and long term strategic planning. She actively teaches the Young Adult ministry as well as Sunday School.
Elder Gwen is humbled and grateful to God for the many opportunities and blessings afforded her as she strives to serve with excellence in the Kingdom of God. She is a Godly example for many to emulate. Through prayer, perseverance, and patience Elder Gwen is blazing a trail in God’s kingdom and is fulfilling her destiny to finish strong.
She has a deep passion for mentoring young men and women to pursue their goals and dreams as they use their God given talents to the best of their ability to bring glory to God. She participates in Junior Achievement, Meals on Wheels, United Way and several employee resource groups. Elder Gwen is an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Elder Gwen believes that one must “be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord”.
Elder Gwen’s greatest joy in life is her relationship with Jesus Christ, being the wife of Cleveland and the mother of two beautiful daughters, Jasmine and Jamecia.
